Directions

There is easy access from Cavallo Point to San Francisco by car, bus and ferry. All three Bay Area airports are just a short drive away: San Francisco International Airport (SFO) is 40-50 minutes; OAK, Oakland International Airport (OAK) is 50 minutes; and San Jose International Airport (SJC) is 70 minutes.

For guests arriving at SFO who prefer not to rent a car, the Marin Airporter bus is available from SFO to Sausalito. Cavallo Point provides complimentary pick up from the bus stop. When the bus begins to cross the Golden Gate Bridge, call our Front Desk at 415-339-4737 so that our shuttle can be ready for pick up at the Marin Airporter stop. Plan to depart the Marin Airporter at Spencer Avenue. This is the exit after the Golden Gate Bridge and through a tunnel. The first exit after the tunnel is Spencer Avenue. This service is also available upon return to SFO.

Public transportation to San Francisco is available by bus or ferry. To access these, Cavallo Point offers complimentary shuttle service for our hotel guests to and from the Ferry Station in Sausalito, one mile from the lodge.     • Proceed straight through stop sign
    • Make first left onto Bunker Rd
    • Do not pass through tunnel, take first right to stay on Bunker Rd

    AIRPORT ACCESS

  • San Francisco International Airport (SFO) to Cavallo Point

    • Using Marin Airporter
      Approximate time: 50 minutes

      One-way fare to Spencer Avenue is $20.00 per adult. Children 5 through 9 years are half price, and children 4 and under travel for free. The fare may be paid directly to the driver of the bus. Cash, local checks, and travelers checks are accepted. Marin Airporter cannot accept payment by credit card. No reservations are needed.

      Busses pick up passengers at SFO every 30 minutes, on the hour and half-hour, beginning at 5:00 AM. The last bus of the night departs from SFO at midnight. No reservations are required. Plan to depart the shuttle at Spencer Avenue. This is the exit after the Golden Gate Bridge and through a tunnel. The first exit after the tunnel is Spencer Avenue. Please call the lodge at 415-339-4700 when you are on the bridge and we will pick you up at the Spencer Avenue bus stop.

      For all domestic flights, the pick up point for Marin Airporter is outside of baggage claim (located on the lower level), on the center courtesy island. The busses stop at the "Marin/Sonoma County" sign, next to the large blue pillar labeled "Airporters."

      From the International Terminal, the new pick-up point for Marin Airporter is on the arrivals (baggage claim) level. To find the bus, cross to the center island, and wait at the green- and white-striped curb. Look for the sign saying "Airporter." Please note: this is a new pick-up location. Marin Airporter no longer picks up on the ground floor in Courtyard "A."

      Departures: Busses pick up passengers at Spencer Avenue every 30 minutes, at approximately :10 and :40 minutes past the hour from 4:10 AM until 11:10 PM. The trip to SFO takes a minimum of 50 minutes, but it can take longer depending on traffic conditions.

      Let the Cavallo Point front desk staff know what time you would like to catch the bus and allow 10 minutes travel time to get to Spencer Avenue. The van to Spencer Avenue departs from the valet stand in front of the lobby.
