Dog Day Afternoon & Cook-Out

Sunday, June 7th

Come celebrate with your loyal Canine Companion! On Sunday, June 7, bring your pup and join us for an event to benefit the Marin Humane Society. The afternoon festivities feature a cook-out along with drinks for people and take-home treats for pups. There will be plenty for the whole family to enjoy…

  • Paw Painting: Put their best paw forward and paint a one-of-a-kind with your dog
  • Cavallo Point Puparrazzi: A professional photographer commemorates the occasion with a photo of you and your pet (funny costumes and props optional)
  • Small Animal Friends: Visit with some of the shelter’s smaller companions such as guinea pigs and hamsters
  • Pet Boutique: Pet-related items from the Mercantile’s large selection
  • Shelter Dogs on Show: Shelter dogs will accompany handlers modeling Kathy Kamei Designs jewelry

$85 per person, including one dog
$20 for each additional dog
$42 per child (ages 5-12)

A portion of the proceeds go to the Marin Humane Society, to help animals less fortunate than yours. All party animals must be on leashes, please!

The Marin Humane Society offers refuge, rehabilitation, and support services to more than 10,000 domestic animals and wildlife each year through a myriad of community services, including adoptions, foster care, behavior and training, humane education, pet assistance for people in need, lost-and-found pet services, low-cost clinics, and more. We are a local, independent organization and are not a chapter or affiliate of any national organization. Your support of the Marin Humane Society directly helps animals in your community.

White Hot Party

Add more heat to your summer! Put on your summer whites and join us at Cavallo Point for the White Hot Summer Party with Marin Magazine. This cool event not only celebrates the season’s long, warm days, it’s also the launch party for Marin Magazine’s special publication, Marin Summer: The Ultimate 2015 Guide to Activities and Events. Admission includes a sumptuous array of hors d’oeuvres, beer & wine, entertainment by the celebrated David Martin’s House Party—a 9-piece musical experience, and white hot dancing!

Lectures at Cavallo Point

Throughout the year, Cavallo Point organizes engaging lectures for guests and the local community. Many are developed in conjunction with the Institute at the Golden Gate. The Institute, a landmark program of the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy in partnership with the National Park Service, brings environmental programming to Cavallo Point and other venues.

 

Activities at Cavallo Point Lodge

We want guests at Cavallo Point to make the most of nearby riches that add so much to the San Francisco Bay Area. To that end, we offer diverse activities each day.

Complimentary Activities at Cavallo Point:

  • Hikes & walks
  • Guided Cavallo Point walkabout (learn the history of Fort Baker)
  • Guided hike under the Golden Gate Bridge
  • Morning yoga (complimentary to hotel guests, passes available for visitors)

In addition to our regular activities, listen to engaging lectures by noted guest speakers; fly a kite on the parade ground; or attend Tuesdays to Your Health, a monthly lecture series hosted by resident holistic doctor Brad Jacobs. With our splendid setting and diverse array of activities onsite, you needn't go far to have the vacation of a lifetime.
