A Stress Reduction Program at Cavallo Point

Over the course of the last year, the increased levels of stress and anxiety due to the devastating pandemic has led to a growing awareness of the importance of physical, mental and emotional health. As a result, along with the recent issuance of Marin County’s Stay-Home order, Cavallo Point has partnered with BlueWave Medicine and its founder, noted integrative medicine physician, Dr. Brad Jacobs, MD MPH, to offer 6 Pillars of Healthy Living, a new wellness and stress reduction program.

Revolving around Dr. Jacobs’ 6 Pillars of Healthy Living platform, and presented in conjunction with Matt Turner, Director of the Healing Arts Center & Spa at Cavallo Point, the program is designed to help guests cope with the stress of the pandemic, improve resiliency & mental clarity, optimize restorative sleep, and experience the healing quality of outdoor activities and exercise. The program offers participants the opportunity to return to nature, quiet the mind and reconnect with self and partner, while utilizing wellness practices designed to focus on both mental and physical well-being.

Dr. Jacobs teams with expert health practitioners to offer an array of integrative experiences to help with stress management, including nurturing, inspiring, and healing signature outdoor wellness. Dr. Jacobs provides guests with innovative solutions to improve and maintain health and vitality with his 6 Pillars of Healthy Living: Active Living; Healthy Eating; Restorative Sleep; Stress Reduction and Awareness; Connection; Passion and Purpose & Gratitude. Each of the sessions will focus on one of these pillars.

Each of the experiences addresses one of the 6 Pillars, ranging from meditation classes to nutrition consultations to hypnotherapy and more. 1) Active Living

Outdoor Yoga

$170 for private Yoga session

Yoga is a physical and mental discipline that helps achieve balance by connecting the body, breath and mind. A typical yoga routine combines physical postures, called asanas, with breathing techniques and meditative practices. Goals often include stress reduction and physical fitness. Classes are led by experienced and accredited yoga instructors. Each class is one hour long; mats and props are provided.

Chapel Steps to Bay Trail Hike

60 minutes (roundtrip) $120

Our signature hike begins with an incline climb up the back of our property with stunning views of the Golden Gate Bridge. Your then led under a grove of eucalyptus trees and to the retired Battery Yates along the coastline. This simple yet serene trek leads you up into the hills behind Ft. Baker and down into Horseshoe Cove, providing picturesque views of the former military post, the Golden Gate Bridge, and the Bay. This hike is perfect for those wanting to experience a piece of Marin’s natural beauty without the workout.

Kirby Cove Hike

2 hours (roundtrip) $200

Kirby Cove nestles at the foot of the Marin Headlands just west of the Golden Gate Bridge. From Ft. Baker, the hike up Conzelman Rd. and down through a grove of cypress, eucalyptus and pine to the beach takes a little over an hour or so. At the cove, you will find a pristine wedge of course-sand beach with a fabulous view of the Golden Gate Bridge and northern San Francisco—and you might even spy a whale!

Good Days Start With Gratitude is a 52 week guide to cultivate an attitude of gratitude! It is a self-exploration journal designed to focus on being thankful for what we have, the big things in life, as well as the simple joys. Each well designed weekly spread contains an inspirational quote, space to write 3 things you are thankful for each day of the week, and a weekly checkpoint. If you start each day by writing down three things you are thankful for - a good cup of coffee, the smell of rain, starting a good book - you begin each day on the right note. Do it daily and make it a habit to focus on the blessings you have been given!
