Cavallo Point Safe Stay Program Commitment

At Cavallo Point, the health and well-being of our guests, team members and our community is paramount. In accordance with the latest guidelines and recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and other governmental agencies regarding COVID-19, we have implemented the following new measures and service enhancements to ensure that your stay with us is always relaxing, healthful and inspiring. Our Safe Stay Program was designed specifically for Cavallo Point and is administered and reviewed by our General Manager and Executive Safety Team on a daily basis. We look forward to welcoming you to Cavallo Point – the Lodge at the Golden Gate in our National Park setting for a most memorable and rewarding experience.


Cavallo Point Signature Cleaning Protocol: Lobby, Guestrooms & All Public Areas Property-wide

  • Cavallo Point has adopted extensive cleaning protocols in accordance with CDC and other applicable governmental guidelines and using EPA-registered cleaning products applied throughout the day in the lobby, guestrooms and all public areas property-wide
  • All high-touch surfaces and items will be disinfected frequently, including but not limited to counter surfaces, door handles, restroom faucets, handrails, pens and elevator buttons

New Arrival & Curbside Check-In at Reception

  • We have introduced staggered arrivals and guest check-in with convenient pre-scheduled arrival times for all guests
  • Our Cavallo Lodge Ambassador at the security gate will announce all guest arrivals to Reception for check-in
  • Guests are greeted at the Valet Stand and pre-arrival documentation is confirmed
  • Rooms are pre-assigned and electronic card keys are disinfected prior to being placed in your key packet
  • If you do not have your own mask, we will provide one to you at check-in. In accordance with California’s health and safety rules, we ask that you wear a mask at all times in public areas 
  • With the addition of a seamless new curbside check-in process, our staff will guide you to your room, providing any level of assistance that you find most comfortable 
  • Guests will be offered assistance with luggage by a Lodge Ambassador, maintaining social distancing and utilizing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to include face masks and gloves. 

Lexus Guest Transport Vehicles

  • In the event that a guest transfer is necessary and standard social distancing is not possible, all vehicle occupants are required to wear face masks
  • Vehicles will be treated between uses with an EPA-registered, environmentally safe disinfectant

Guestrooms

  • Cavallo Point Signature daily cleaning and sanitizing protocol
  • All reusable collateral, brochures and magazines are removed from guestrooms
  • Our lavender spritz amenity, previously delivered at turndown, has been replaced with a 1oz. hand sanitizer for all guestrooms 
  • Carpet flooring is cleaned using an EPA-registered HEPA filter vacuum cleaner

New Mobile Device Access

  • A new guest communication tool allows access to our hotel concierge services through your own hand-held device or laptop from the comfort of your guestroom and throughout the property 

Expanded Outdoor Spaces

  • We have expanded our outdoor porch spaces on the upper level above the registration and restaurant buildings to provide open areas for dining and relaxing from which to healthfully enjoy the outdoor spaces and stunning views of the Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco Bay and city skyline

Enhanced Dining Options

  • New consolidated menus for Murray Circle Restaurant and Farley Bar provide you with more diverse dining options
  • Guests may select the privacy of in-room dining or reserve secluded and comfortably distanced outdoor and indoor seating at Farley Bar and Murray Circle
  • For your greater comfort and health, we have limited the number of guests allowed on property to better support safe social distancing and are requiring advance reservations for all dining

Healing Arts Center, Cooking School & Mercantile

  • While we await further governmental safety guidance to again offer our traditional spa therapies, we have introduced a number of new non-contact modalities, including sound therapy, sleep therapy, reiki sessions, and private massage instruction for your enjoyment
  • Pending further governmental guidance, our Cooking School class offerings have been modified to allow for new social distancing standards… with healthy, entertaining and delicious eating choices as always! 
  • Marin’s favorite retail shop, the Mercantile at Cavallo Point, will be ready to greet you in comfort and style

Housekeeping Services

  • To accommodate your personal preference and level of comfort, you now have your choice of flexible housekeeping service, with full, limited or delivery-only service upon request.
    • Full Daily Service: Our standard Cavallo Point service, for those guests who prefer daily room make up and nightly turndown service
    • Limited Service: Our team will access your room once daily to provide room make up service only without nightly turndown service
    • Daily Delivery Service Only: We understand some guests may prefer complete guestroom privacy, so upon arrival, we will stock your room for the entire stay, and discuss options for delivery of extra linens, towels and bathroom amenities

Murray Circle Restaurant and Farley Bar

  • We have reduced Indoor seating areas to provide appropriate social distancing of a minimum of 6 feet between tables 
  • We have expanded Outdoor service areas to include upstairs outdoor dining with 6-foot minimum distancing. Tables limited to parties of 6 or less. 
  • Guests are directed to online menus from personal devices or offered a laminated menu version that is sanitized between uses 
  • No table top linens are used for dining service
  • All china, glass and silverware is washed with EPA-registered Ecolab sanitizers in our dishwashers at minimum temperatures of 140 °F
  • Payment processing is transacted through portable, sanitized hand-held devices or by OpenTable Pay or by room charges

In-Room Dining

  • Guests may place orders through our OrdersHub QR code link utilizing their mobile device (no contact with an in-room menu or guestroom phone is necessary
  • All menu orders are delivered with covered lids or in disposable containers to avoid tray exposure
  • Orders are placed outside the guest room to be checked by the guest while our server is distanced 6 feet away
  • Guests will be provided with a container or garbage bag to discard all disposable/ compostable items
  • Guests will receive a follow-up call from our Cavallo Point team member for a contactless pick-up by placing the tray outside their guestroom 

Lexus Test Drive Vehicles

  • All high-touch points are wiped down with an EPA-registered disinfectant cleaner
  • Only cars that have been certified as clean by the Guest Services Manager will be offered for use
  • Test drive vehicles will have a “clean card certification” placed on the dashboard when ready 

Property-wide Sanitization Equipment

  • Hand sanitizing stations are located throughout the property at building entrances
  • Dispensers are filled by the housekeeping and engineering staff throughout the day 
  • Cavallo Point uses its signature lavender and eucalyptus hand sanitizer with a 62% alcohol rating at Reception, Restaurant Hostess Stand, Mercantile and Healing Arts Center
  • Our lavender spritz amenity, previously delivered at turndown, has been replaced with a 1oz. hand sanitizer for all guestrooms 

Fitness Center & Vintage Electric Touring Bicycles

  • Our fitness center is a fresh air facility with windows opening to the park and a recirculating fan that draws in outside air
  • The facility is also equipped with an EPA-registered HEPA air filter
  • All equipment is sanitized using an EPA-registered disinfectant between uses
  • Cleaned equipment will be indicated by a fresh rolled towel in the drink holder
  • All fitness equipment will be appropriately spaced to have guests exercising a minimum of 6 feet apart
  • Fitness center also has EPA-registered disinfectant available for guests to self-clean equipment as desired
  • Electric touring bicycles are cleaned with an EPA-registered disinfectant after each guest use. Only bikes certified clean will be returned to the check-out area. 

Pools and Jacuzzis

  • Outdoor furniture & pool lounge chairs are set at least 6 feet apart
  • All furniture is cleaned with an EPA-registered disinfectant after each guest use
  • Lounge chair covers are changed after each guest use
  • Hot tub and steam room usage will be limited to 1 guest at a time
  • Pool chemicals ensure proper disinfection levels (1-10 parts per million free chlorine; 3-8 parts per million bromine; 7.2-8 pH level)

Cavallo Point Safe Stay Team Member COVID-19 Training

  • Mandatory Cavallo Point Safe Stay COVID-19 training and education required for all staff 
  • Standards for maintaining social distancing
  • Proper cleaning of uniforms
  • Proper hygiene to include frequent hand washing and to avoid touching one’s face
  • Daily temperature checks before reporting to work
  • Mandated not to come to work if they are displaying any COVID-19-like symptoms or other symptoms of any illness
  • Our staff is compensated for sick leave as needed if illness is a concern
